    Ruimtes voor nieuwe rituelen

    €29.00

    Things & Air, Rein Dufait

    €39.00

For Rein Dufait, the definition of sculpture is the adding or subtracting of material. His rigorous approach to his chosen medium has led him to develop a singular — perhaps also solitary — practice that is nourished by an insistent curiosity about material (whether natural or manmade) and a fascination with form (whether organic or artistic). In his work, Dufait confronts the fundamental questions of sculpture: how to divide space; how to combine textures; how to create volume and height. His sculptures are never narrative, seldom figurative, but often refer to organic structures. Always human in scale, they reveal an efficiency in construction that is fundamental to their meaning.

    Heterotopia, Joost Colpaert

    €39.00

Joost Colpaert (°1965, lives and works in Oudenaarde, Belgium) has been producing paintings and videos for many years in which recurring cycles, fluent progress and the force of water play a central theme. He is inspired by his musical background: where a painting is spatially restricted, music can continue to flow (eternally). In a series of paintings from around 2000 the idea of recurring cycles was expressed in the form of rings, streamers and tyres which wound around and through each other. Since 2002 he has become more and more inspired by water and rivers; a reflection of a recurring cycle. He works this figuratively using maps and landscapes, but also abstractly.

    The Matrix Project, Thierry Lagrange

    €35.00

The Matrix Project comprises two contexts, namely photographic work of architect Thierry Lagrange and the self-reflective trajectory that he developed during his doctorate at KULeuven. Lagrange’s practice-based research developed to an autonomous artistic project, in which he studied the signification and nature of observation within a creative process. Through his multifaceted practice as an architect, photographer and researcher, Lagrange developed ‘The Matrix Method’; a method that stimulates creativity within different contexts and can be implemented for example in art education. For the Matrix Project, 25 years’ worth of photographs was entered into a context of research and presents a new perspective on different ways of seeing in our present visual culture.

Thierry Lagrange (°1970) is a civil engineer/architect. He runs the architecture office ALT-architectuur. He is active as a photographer and videomaker and finished his doctorate Look Here Now, Mapping Design Trajectories. Legrange is lecturer an researcher at the Faculty of Architecture, KU Leuven.

Time Regained, A Warburg Atlas for Early Music

    €65.00

This publication is a kind of workbook or manual. It is not a music history, nor is it a technical, musicological book. It is rather a book about materials – musical materials and their relation to other artistic materials. It is not a book for professionals or specialists but for those who like to explore the capacities and possibilities of artistic materials. However, it never talks about them in a technical way. This book is instead about love and desire for old repertoires, and especially for polyphony, attempting to retrace its shape: the initial desire that makes one want to perform this music.
